Whenever I feel out of sync or emotionally low, I go back, again and again, to my 7 day cleanse. During the summer months, it's my way of life, drinking green smoothies through the day. If I go out for dinner or lunch, I'll go with the flow and have a regular meal, imbibe a pisco sour and have fun with friends. Next day, I'll be back to drinking green smoothies and green tea. It's a balance which works for me, keeps my mood up and yet allows me to take social time-out.
Start the morning with green tea steeped with generous amounts of lemon and ginger.
Continue drinking this tea throughout the day.
Breakfast
1 cup of water
1 tablespoon freshly ground flaxseed
1 cup of raspberries or blueberries
1 banana
1 cup of spinach
1 tablespoon of almond butter
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
15 Chlorella tablets
6 ice cubes (optional)
Blend well
Lunch
1/2 cup of almond milk
4 celery sticks
1 cup of cucumber
1 cup of kale
1/2 green apple
Juice from 1 lime
1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
1 cup of pineapple
1 tablespoon of soaked Chia
15 Chlorella tablets
6 ice cubes (optional)
Blend well
Dinner
1 and 1/2 cups of coconut water
1 cup of blueberries
1/2 cup of mango
1 cup of a mix of kale/chard/parsley
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon (or less) of cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon of freshly ground flax seed
15 Chlorella tablets
6 ice cubes (optional)
Blend well
At 11am and 3 pm drink the Stand-alone smoothie. This gives you a pure, green power punch which is very hydrating and cleansing.
Alternate your greens with kale, chard, spinach, collard, parsley, dandelion, cilantro.
